Speckle Raises $12.5 Million to Build The First AEC Data Hub

With incredible support from our previous investors Foundamental, Frontline Ventures, Matrix Partners, and Foreword, plus the addition of dbt Labs’ Tristan Handy, we’re more motivated than ever to push the boundaries of what's possible in AEC.

Why This Matters?

If you’re part of the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) world, you know how frustrating it can be to juggle different software tools and datasets.

Speckle was born out of this very challenge in 2020. Our co-founders, Dimitrie and Matteo, come from architecture and engineering backgrounds themselves, so they’ve been through the pain of disjointed workflows first-hand.

What started as a Grasshopper plugin for sharing 3D models has grown into a centralised platform that helps teams collaborate, manage data, and automate tedious tasks—all in one place, in what we like to call the first AEC data hub.

And now, thanks to this new funding, we’re ready to take it to the next level while always being mindful of our mission: to improve the industry for engineers, designers, architects, and developers alike.

To keep the pace with the needs of the industry, we're focusing on growing an extraordinary team to grow our extraordinary solution. Over the past year, our team has expanded significantly, allow us to develop and deliver better solutions more efficiently.

With that said, we're excited to share new Speckle features coming your way, many of which will debut at SpeckleCon this November in London.

Speckle for Teams: Workspaces was created to help teams manage projects, workflows, and data in a more organised, collaborative way.

Enhanced Connectivity: Our connectors make it easier for multidisciplinary teams to exchange data without the usual headaches of proprietary files or licenses. The latest update brings even more customisation and smoother integration across CAD, BIM, and GIS tools.

Workflow Automation: Speckle Automate, our new CI/CD tool for AEC, will let you automate time-consuming tasks like code validation, reporting, and analysis, freeing up more time for creativity. Oh, and we’ve added real-time commenting to make data analysis and team collaboration even smoother!
