The name “Workspaces” is not in plural form without reason; you can easily switch between multiple workspaces you’re a part of or have created, so collaborating with multiple teams or companies is secure and well-organised.

Your Workspace: Where All Stakeholders Have Their Role

So this is how it works: you get your team into a workspace as members, and they’ll immediately get to see all projects.

If you’re the workspace’s admin, you’ll get your central place to see and manage projects and user permissions. Admins are always owners of all projects, so they can easily manage each project team and workflow even if they did not start the project.

We also know that project teams can drastically differ from project to project. Often, there's a need for adding external collaborators, contractors and clients to only specific projects. So, you’ll get to assign those stakeholders a guest role in your workspace!

Guests are limited workspace members with explicitly granted read or write permissions on a per-project basis. Admins grant access to these workspace lurkers in their management overview place.

Speckle Workspaces are Enterprise-Ready

Data security matters to all of us in AEC. This is why we’re introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) and data residency. Admins can set up any SSO provider in minutes—no sales calls, no extended configurations.

Additionally, we’re bringing domain-based security to the mix as Workspaces makes managing your team's data effortless.

When new members sign up with your verified email domain, they’re prompted to join your workspace—no admin invite is needed. This optional discovery feature helps unite teams already using Speckle without knowing it!

You can also invite external guests and give them access to specific projects, allowing you to control who joins what and when.

Workspaces are SOC2 Type 1 Attested: We often hear the misconception that open-source software like Speckle is inherently insecure. We strongly disagree, but now we have the credentials to settle the debate. We’ve secured our SOC2 Type 1 attestation to cut discussions short. If you’re keen on SOC2 Type 2, this will follow soon!
